Voluntarist Brotherhood started in August of 2017.
Four principled voluntaryist men set out on a road trip from Central Washington and Portland Oregon to ride to Reno Nevada, then to the coast of California and return through the redwoods, to the Pacific North West.
In Reno we discovered that we shared a common vision of the world and what we could do as a group. We promised to each other to protect each other and our families and grow a motorcycle club of others that believe in the Non Aggression Principle.
Club Moto : No Initiation / No Tolerance
As voluntaryists, we can not initiate force on others. We are opposed to rulers and we can not act as rulers to others. We believe in and promote voluntary interactions and a future society based on consent. We believe that good ideas do not require force. We also believe that artificial subsidies and penalties produce a departure from nature and therefor are antithetical to the human mission to experience an authentic interaction with nature. We believe in personal responsibility and self-ownership.
We also believe is self-defense and mutual-defense. We do not tolerate the initiation of force on our club brothers, our families, or any peaceful person we have the power to defend.
Club Structure.
VBMC is structured as an observance of the relationship between the feminine Earth and the Masculine sky. We are always focused on the horizon.
The club was started by the First Four. When they pass the torch, this level will be called the Four Seasons. They point the club in the four cardinal points of the compass.
The daily decisions are made by the 12 Zodiacs. Our table has 13 positions: the 12 Zodiacs and the body of the Four Seasons. There are never even counts on major decisions. Each seat has a specific duty attached to it.
The regular patched member is called a Night. Nights are not actively concerned with decision making or long term goals of the club. These are the majority of the club in numbers. Nights just party in the club houses and enjoy the rides. Life is good!
Apprentices. Those who want to join VBMC must ride with us as apprentices for 1 year. At a time after that the Four Seasons and/or the 12 Zodiacs will announce if the apprentice is a fit for the club and allowed to fully join. We do not do any childish hazing rituals like regular bike clubs. Apprentices may be asked to video rides or help with certain activities, but we maintain respect for apprentices. The barrier that most clubs need to keep out infiltrators, is much easier for our club that has principles and a belief system built in. If someone is not a voluntaryist, it will become evident.
Associates. For our voluntaryist friends who support the club but do not ride, we have an extended family membership. Associates get their own patch and are listed on the website. They also get invites to clubhouse events!
Agorist Network. One of the four functions of the club is to curate a list of goods and service providers that espouse and operate under the principles of voluntaryism. If you know, you know. The club is required to seek help from our network before looking in the regular marketplace.
Chapters. VBMC does not have chapters. Members can live anywhere and fly in or drive to make meetings or rides. Members must attend at least four rides per year.
Centers of Operations.
In the future the club plans to have its first clubhouse near Las Vegas Nevada. Our second clubhouse will probably be near Spokane Washington. We are looking at old warehouses or industrial spaces. Our clubhouse will host events such as Voluntary Vegas and workshops such as firearms instruction for members and of course, there will be VBMC parties!!
In Summer we ride from Spokane and in Winter months we ride from Las Vegas. Our members actually live all over the place. We store bikes in both locations and some members fly in to make rides! We do not have chapters with set locations.
If you are interested in joining or learning more about VBMC, feel free to contact us here.
If you have strong leanings toward freedom and ride a motorcycle, you may be invited to join us on one of our “Open Rides”. Open Rides are usually short day trips where we can explore ideas and share in kick-ass life experiences (if you ride, you know).
